Bognor Regis Beach

Think of Bognor Regis Beach and you may just think of Butlins, but there’s a lot more to do at this iconic seaside resort, nestled along the Sussex coastline.

Renowned across South East England for its traditional feel, Bognor’s beautiful pebble-stone beach is adorned with quintessentially English beach huts, a Victorian bandstand and a wonderfully accessible wide promenade.

Did you know? Bognor’s Beach is home to one of the healthiest kelp forests in the United Kingdom. Kelp forests provide a welcome shelter, feeding and nursery for vital marine species including lobster, sea bream and bass.

Things To Do at Bognor Regis Beach

Make a day of it! Or spend the whole weekend at one of the UK’s sunniest seaside resorts.

There are a number of different activities for all ages when visiting Bognor Regis Beach.

Start off with the most obvious by enjoying a leisurely stroll along Bognor Pier. This Victorian-era pier features a fun-filled amusement park (a British favourite!) There’s even an 18-hole crazy golf course directly opposite the Pier. That’s if you fancy a competitive afternoon with the family. During the summer months, a miniature train offers rides along the promenade.

North of Bognor Pier, you’ll find Hotham Park which features a miniature railway, miniature golf course and a children’s playground. West of the Pier is Marine Park Gardens which features a traditional 18-hole pitch and putt green. Bognor certainly loves its mini golf! If you have your four-legged companion with you, there’s the option of visiting the dog-friendly West Park.

If you’re visiting Bognor Regis with the kids, make sure to spend at least a few hours at Butlins. There’s fun for all the family here, including go-karts, a fairground, water park, and swimming pool.

On the other hand, if watersports are more your cup of tea, paddleboards can be hired from us at the Beachcroft Hotel. We’re located on the east side of the beach, neighbouring the glorious Felpham Beach. We also run open water swimming group sessions throughout the year.

Are dogs allowed on the beach?

During the summer months, from 1st May to 30th September, dogs are not allowed directly on Bognor Regis Beach, however, they can still be walked along the promenade on a lead. During the rest of the year, dogs are allowed on the beach.

Bognor Regis Beach Restaurant - The Tamarisk and Blake’s Beach Bar and Terrace

Head down to the eastern side of the beach, adjacent to Felpham Beach, and you’ll find Blake’s Beach Bar and Terrace. Our restaurant is right by our hotel. During the spring and summer months, relax outside on our decking area, overlooking the sea. Enjoy a stone-baked pizza, fish and chips, burgers, sandwiches and so much more. We also serve a delightful afternoon tea

Furthermore, enjoy gourmet English cuisine at our Tamarisk Restaurant, located within our hotel, which is open to everyone. We also feature a dog-friendly restaurant — Monty’s Bar & Bistro — endearingly named after our owner’s beloved dog; Monty
